Hundred of Kiwis joined people from nearly 200 countries around the world, filming a part of their day for the international ‘Life in a Day’ time capsule.
Life In A Day is a joint project between YouTube and Hollywood directors Kevin Macdonald and Ridley Scott to create a video time capsule of the world on 24 July 2010.
It is a historic global experiment to create a user-generated feature film shot in a single day.
Over the next few months the filmmakers will craft the most compelling and distinctive footage into a full-length documentary which will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2011.
But you don’t have to wait until the festival to see what was submitted. The YouTube channel for Life in a Day has tens of thousands of clips viewable to the public and will eventually show all 80,000.
Over 400 entries from New Zealanders were amongst the 80,000 submissions in 45 languages were received.
I have linked a few Kiwi entries below.
• Night skiing in the Southern Hemisphere
• Piha Gorge -the drive
• Ōtara Markets
• World’s first sunrise
• Abdelghani
• Joe Michael
After watching a few of the clips, I was inspired to capture the life in my day, today Tuesday 21 September.
I didn’t make a film, but I just captured it. The life in my day was simply getting up and having life. The life – was the life in my day.
What is the life in your day today? I would love to know, tell me about or post a photo that describes it.
Have a lovely week,
