Setting The Right Decisions

When it comes to making the right decisions, most people find it easy if they do not have problems and issues about the topic concerned. Otherwise they will certainly procrastinate and even let the matter drag over time. This is especially the case when the decisions require sacrifices – giving up what we have in exchange for what can save others' lives.

It can be hard for anybody. Friends, boyfriends and girlfriends, husbands and wives, parents and children. If the matter is not desperate and urgent, we can take time to consider before deciding in a better frame of mind. Otherwise, we must decide immediately. However one wrong decision in a heated moment may not be possible to alter the outcome whether good or bad.

If we stop and look back at the past, we tend to regret if what happened recently is from our bad decisions. From my experiences, we decide wrongly usually under pressure of the people around us. It can be our family, friends and relatives. Just because most of them think we should do this or that, we just decide for the sake of pleasing them and relieving ourselves from pressure and stress.

Because of this, I decided to provide you with invaluable advice that you can learn and put this into practice when facing such situations again:

1. Choice Among Alternatives

The first thing you need to remember about making decisions is that there is no right or wrong decision. All decisions – whether big or small – are just choices among alternatives.

2. Snap Decisions

However important decision making may be, it is advisable to avoid making snap decisions.

If decisions are easily reversible, you can act quickly. Otherwise, you need more time to think carefully.

3. Taking Notes

Taking notes is the next best alternative before deciding.

Write down all possible problems and solutions on a piece of paper or typing them on notepad enables you to have a clearer frame of mind.

Apart from those, do include all the pros and cons of your decision as well.

4. Review All Facts Thoroughly

Before making any decision, it is important to review all facts thoroughly.

Once you have done so, allow yourself time to think again before making your conclusion.

5. Make One Decision At A Time

Make one decision at a time rather than allowing all decisions to build up and force you to make them all immediately.

6.  Stick To Your Decision

Once you have made up your mind, stick to your decision even if you are not totally certain if it is the right one or not.
