People often perceive counselling as such a major emotional step and thus it can be such a threatening thing, we say that counselling does not have to be scary. We see a spectrum of people from someone who wants to just talk an everyday issue through in one session to people who wants to deal with an issue that has been causing them distress for years, which might take a few counselling sessions.
We also see people who want to deal with a specific issue and once they have this area in their lives more balanced they come back after a time period to deal with an issue or two that they are then ready to deal with. We therefore present counselling as a process that you structure in a manner that suits you to obtain your wellbeing goal/s.
As a life consultant/counsellor at Choice Life Consulting, I focus on individual, career and relationship counselling. This includes counselling/coaching on anxiety, social competence, lifestyle change, self-esteem, assertiveness, personal development, frustration, anger, career development, goals, motivation, achievement, stress management, re-entering the workplace and optimal functioning in the workplace. I passionately do couple counselling, as I believe that people give up before they realise that no relationship is flawless or hopeless and with focussing on a few basic aspects we can get quite far on improving the connection. Being an immigrant myself I offer support to people who are experiencing the stressors and strains of immigration and the challenges that they face in this life changing process. I believe in assisting and empowering women to positively manage the challenge of life, family and work.
I have a zeal for assisting people to creatively address issues in their life, to enable them to live with a positive empowered attitude and find the joy and fulfilment they are striving for by realising that they have the power to effect and draw this into their own lives.
